How do i break in my football boots?

i got new football boots (soccer cleats) and ive worn them to two practices. i need to break them in before tomorrows game. the woman who sold me them said something about vasiline but idk if that will do anything. also what are some ways to break in a baseball mitt maybe i could use those on my cleats
