Speaking to my teacher?

My teacher from last year has been the only person I feel comfortable enough to talk to about my life. However, certain people have "impressions" that me and her are best friends. We are friends, but not to the point where she tells me about her life. Its strictly guidence oriented. Is there some kind of statement (possibly legal right) or viewpoint I could use to justify my friendship with her? If not, I am not allowed to speak with her again. Im simply at a loss for what to do. (im a girl so its not like i "like" her, ewww no) but shes a friend. the principal lady told me i cant talk to her tho, so what should I do?
