What could I do for Mother's day ?

For Mother's day I want to make something for my mom. Yes I know Mother's day was yesterday, but I won't see her until this weekend. I want to make a poem with mine and my daughters handprints or footprints on them and frame it. My daughter is a baby, so I think it would look really neat. I want her handprints on top of mine. I want to say something like another foot print, has been added to the journey of life or another hand print has left a mark on your heart. What do you think that I could do to make this really cool?? Also what is safe to use on her hands to make the hand print and what could I use?? Thanks for all your help!!!
